Lou Leabengula Myers (September 26, 1935 – February 19, 2013)
better known as Mr Gaines from the tv show A Different World.
I got to meet Lou Meyers in a Duane Reade up on 125th street after the Micheal Jackson Tribute at the Apollo in 2009. I ducked into the store to get out of the rain and noted him. I wan't sure at first until other people started chatting with him and taking pictures. He was kind enough to take this one with me. May God rest his soul.
