The Medieval Festival at Fort Tryon Park

I have lived up in the "Heights" for over five years, I go to Fort Tryon Park quite often as I have posted many things from the park, but today was the first time I went to The Medieval Festival. It says Medieval Festival (there was a bit of Renaissance in there, even though they are two different era's). I had no idea what I was missing all this time!
It was a wonderful day for this festival, warm, but not too hot...well, not too hot when you were out of the direct sun. There was music, food, drink and lots and lots of people, many in costumes. I sometimes have no patience for crowds, but I made myself relax and go with the flow. I had a really lovely day because of it!

The Festival has been held for 29 years due to the generous donation of a dollar from the visitors.

This was the first time I had ever seen or heard a harpist live!

These ladies had the best costumes! These were my favorites of the ladies out today.

This guy was my favorite male in costume. He made the outfit himself!

I just thought this girl was really pretty in her costume.

This fellow was kind enough to strike a pose for me when I asked to take his picture.

This guy was wokin' that hula hoop! I snapped this picture just as he stopped.

I thought this guy looked like Beowolf with his wolf  like dogs! I can't tell a Malamute from a Husky, so what breed of dog these are ...I don't know. *shrug* The grey dog hidden on the other side of the guy did have those wonderful ice blue eyes.

The picture I took of this guy from the front tured out blurry. :( I was so disappointed . He had my second favorite costume of the men.

A bit of sword fighting! The jousting takes place at a bigger festival in another part of New York. I so forgot where it takes place. I will find out because I want to see real (fake!) jousting!

Some non fire breathing dragons! LOL!

This is outside of the Cloisters. Today was the first time I had walked there. I didn't go in, but I will probably go next week when it's not so crowded.

MBFW Spring Summer 2014: Promo Freebies!

I got a decent hall of free stuff from the tents this season! I didn't take a picture of the frozen yougurt popsicles that were available (the coconut was my favorite). I was too busy eating it! And I ate a lot of them...they were free! So were all the items below!

You had to download ebay now to your smartphone to get this bag and it's contents. I got ...three! Two for me and one for a friend. I may give one of the bags away... or not! LOL!
I got two bags and the only difference in the goodie bag was instead of nail polish(Blue Freeze) I got a lip balm. There were ear plugs, a small case of Altoids, a small notebook, hydrocolloid bandages for blister and a Blueberry Bliss Luna bar!

I waited an hour to make an appointment to get a manicure at the Maybelline pop-up store for which I had to wait thirty minutes before I got the manicure. I didn't take a picture of my fresh manicure, but you can't see the wear at the tips of my nails, just like you can't really see the color of the polish. It looks silver, but it was called Lush Lilac. It was a really pretty iridescent color. I got to keep the emery board too!
This was what was in the gift bag; the September issue of Allure magazine, a full size Volum'Express mascara, a lipstick(Pretty Berry), the ugliest nail polish(dotty) which I will wear at Holloween because it is orange with black and silver speckle dots and lastly a pink makeup bag.

The Duane Reade bag had; Colgate Optic White toothpaste, a small sample of Colgate Total mouthwash, Simple protecting light moisturizer, Pond wet cleansing towelettes, a sample of Jergen's Daily Moisture lotion, samples of St. Ives Naturally Smooth body lotion with Natural Fruit AHA Complex, Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleansser, TRESemme Platinum Strength, a sample pack of L'Oreal Total Repairs 5 restoring shampoo, conditioner and Ceramide and finally a sample pack of Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge with superfruit beads shampoo, conditioner and moisture replenish treatment!

A sample of Marchessa'sparfum D'Etase and Juicey Coutures Viva La Juicy Noir.

These I got from the Maybelline models inside the tents; a lipstick in Neon Red and a nail polish in Alluring Rose. The color looks more gold, but I like it much better than the Dotty!

Expensive decorative cards from Papyrus!

I just walked up and took this bag! I think the booth had something to do with expensive real estate, but I can not be sure. I didn't really care, I just wanted the bag!

I got this bag after the Jason Wu show downtown. The girl worked in the store came out and hande me and my co workers the bag. It was a new store from a British athletic wear company called Sweaty Betty. I glanced through the catalog and I marked some of the items I liked!

I didn't like these drinks too much, they were  a bit too watery. I prefer the Starbucks drink instead, but they were free and I took one in each flavor: Mochaccino, Cappuccino and Latte Macchaito.

I have no idea what these are, but I am missing the blue one! I think someone said that these were something to do with perfume, a diffuser or something...I don't know!

Badges from some of the shows I worked. There were two where  I did not get a badge. I have so many from years past that I have kept as souvenirs.

MBFW Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014: Insisde The Tents!

Patrick McDonald, assistant buyer at Barney’s and couture director at Fabrice

Lauren Ezersky. I use to love to watch her tv show " Behind The Velvet Ropes". There aren't any really good fashion tv shows shows anymore. *sigh*

They girls at the Sweet and Low booth. They were serving a Sweet and Low cocktail that I didn not like because I do not like Sweet and Low hence why it did not occure to me to take a picture of the drink. I would have liked it a lot more with out the Sweet and Low.

The Papyrus display. Really pretty and expensive cards. They gave out samples and let you send them out to someone, they paid the postage. I opted to just keep my cards.

I really didn't want a picture of the women, just the guy, but I didn't want to be rude and tell her to step to the side so I can take his picture.

I am in my dream car! This is going on my vision board and I am going to visualize myself in my Mercedes Benz cruising down the highway!
Linda Fargo, women's fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman. My first job moving back to NYC was at Bergdorfs. They had the best employee discount!

The Mercedes Benz representative.

This guy was the most interesting dude I had seen all week! I took the picture above, someone I work with took the ones below.

This was my favorite look. I loved the blue! Her bag was ugly and the color was horrible, but her outfit made up for the bag. I asked her who her the deigner of her outfit was and she looked at me, turned her head and kept on walkin'! Such a stank attitude! I'm so glad not everyone was like this.

Hot ghetto mess of a moment! SMDH! WHY????? This is the sh*t that makes it so hard for black people to catch better breaks in the fashion industry. This is somelow level bs! I just can't...! *throwing up my hands*
I thought she was cute!

How daring of this dude to wear purple pants! I would bet he was gay.

I wanted a picture of this woman's shoes as well, but all my picture taking devices ran out of juice.
I couldn't get a good shot of the back of this woman's shoes. They lit up when she walked! It was so neat!
This girl's necklace was awesome! Her friend had on a gold one just like it. They said a friend of theirs made them.

The most wonderfully awesome model, Lu Sierra! Models today could learn a lot from this women on how to bring life and personality to the clothes that they model.
