Michael Jackson

It was two years ago today  that Michael Jackson died. It still seems unreal. I was reminiscing about being back in grade school waiting for the world premiers of his videos on MTV, back when MTV use to show videos. I use to learn  all the dance routines. Thriller is my favorite and I cans till do most of the moves to this day! Those were some really good times, good memories and good music. *sigh* I'm glad I was at an age to remember and experience it. He was one of a kind.

My all time favorite Michael Jackson album!

Coney Island Mermaid Parade 2011!

The kick off of summer here in New York always starts with the annual Mermaid Parade out at Coney Island. I went this past Saturday and had a wonderful time as usual with my Mermaid Parade pal Laurie! The weather held and the cops didn't keep buggin' us to move like yesterday so I was able to take loads of pictures, see below!

Adam Reichtman from Travel Channels Man vs. Food and Cat Greenleigh from Talk Stoop were the King and Queen of this years parade. I hate that he was taking pictures with his cell phone. This is the best shot I got. The other picture they are both looking away...*sigh*

Click and enlarge this picture! His eyes are wicked! I loved it!

This little dog was the last to walk before the classic cars rolled out.

This dog wasn't in the parade, he was on the boardwalk when we got to Coney Island and thought his purple mohawk was so cute! LOL!

Happy Father's Day...a day late!

I forgot to post Fathers's day cheers befor the weekend so I'll do it now even if it's a day late. Hope all the dads out there had a wonderful day. I called my Pop who was at home chillin', LOL!

Persol Magnificent Obsessions, 30 Years of craftmanship in film!

I got called to do a freelance job yesterday afternoon and being that I am diligently working on manifesting more money into my experience, I excepted the job not knowing what it was, only that I was would be steaming clothes. Well, when I got to the location, I did more sewing than steaming. I sewed labels into some hats, decorations on shoes. Do you know how hard it is to sew on a shoe with a needle and thread?  It wasn't until we were finished four hours later, that I found out who I was working with and for what. Turned out I was helping with an exhibit at CRG(I think that's the name) art gallery or studio( don't  really know which it was), anyway It was an exhibit sponsored by Persol (they make sunglasses). Persol I was working with three time Academy award winning costume designer Milena Canonero.  Wow! She was really sweet, nice, gracious lady. She won awards for Stanley Kubrick's, Clockwork Orange(1975), Hugh Hudson's, Chariot's of Fire(1981) and Sofia Coppella's, Marie Antoinette(2006). Items from the latter film was featured in the exhibit.

Taken when I was leaving. No celebs were sighted during the taking of this picture.

The two pictures above were from the exhibit. They were still working on the jewelry , so I couldn't take a picture of that. By the time they finished setting up, we were politely being told  to get ,out so the guests could come in.

Eye Candy

This months eye candy is Shawn Sutton.I think he is stunning, but dang he is only 20 years old!!!!*gag*
I found this little tidbit of info from  the Black Supermodels Chronicles blog:

Measurements :

Height:6'1

eyes: Brown

Hair: Dark brown

Waist: 31

Shoes:1Suit: 38L

Shirt: 15.5

Inseam: 33

Red Models Management ‘s Secret Weapon is definitely the agency’s ability to bring something different to the fashion industry . Once again they did a nice shot grabbing Shawn Sutton when he had the audacity to walk into the agency without an appointment . With his unique features , perfect body and feline eyes , Shawn is so rare . At only 20 Shawn shows all the traits of a rising star , along with Jeremy Danté , I believe his great features and personality will help place Shawn Sutton high on all the right callsheets …

Talking about the Industry’s attitude toward models of black descent , Shawn said : "Some casting sheets actually said 'No Blacks,"' the 19-year-old model . He was referring to the model castings at the recent men's wear shows in Milan. "It was pretty brutal and, yeah, it was racist," he added. "But things opened up a lot by Paris, so I paid it no mind."
