Outdoor Statues In New York City

The below statue is of the man for whom Bryant park is named after, where the Seventh on Sixth fashion shows in the tents are being held for the last season before moving to Lincoln Center. This statue is located behind the main library on fifth avenue between 40th and 42nd streets. Bryant Park is on Sixth avenue between the same streets.

William Cullen Bryant (November 3, 1794 – June 12, 1878) was an American romantic poet, journalist, and long-time editor of the New York Evening Post.

Gertrude Stein (February 3, 1874 – July 27, 1946) was an American writer who spent most of her life in France, and who became a catalyst in the development of modern art and literature.

This is statue is only a few feet away from the staue of William Cullen Bryant.
