Oprah!

I can not believe today is the very last day of the Oprah Winfrey Show! I knew this day wass coming because I was watching when Oprah made the announcement back in 2009 that she was ending her show, but still... I know I'm going  to be sad and need to mourn a bit. I was tearing up watching the shows on Monday and Tuesday. My weekday afternnons will never be the same.*sigh*  I'm going to miss her show, but I guess OWN is something bigger and better. Quite frankly I am freakin' estatic that a self-made billionare black women OWNs her own network! Gives me that much more incentive to get my serious hustle on and become a part of that exclusive club. Lord knows we could use many, many...MANY more women of color  in possitions of power and influence in order to counter a lot of the negative propoganda aimed directly at black women ( Talking to you Psycology Today!), but I digress...

Thank you Oprah for the many lessons, laughs and Aha moments over the years! I sure will miss ya.

Cheers to you Oprah!

Some of my drawings

Some drawings I did when I was inspired and in the right frame of mind to sit still for long periods at a time, lol!

Randomness

I was walking through the maze to the train at 34th street to take the A train home when I saw  or rather heard this. It was such a pleasant surprise. They started off next to one of them doomsday people who say the world is going to end tomorrow *rolling eyes*. They moved to this spot where I was able to record them. This gets people to drop bills. I saw all the bills when I dropped my dollor in thier music case. This is one of many reasons I love New York!

Arturo Elena

Below are some pics of another illustrator that inspires me, Arturo Elena. He's a self taught illustrator from Spain. I'm not all that keen on the extra elongated skinny style, but his color rendoring is exceptional. I'd have to be drugged to have the patience to be that precice.

Eye Candy

Ok, I had some issues with posting this months eye candy comments. It seems upgrading to IE9 made it so that I couldn't see any text on my blog so I had to download Google Chrome, which I didn't want to do, but it was easier than trying to delete stuff and then add stuff back.
Anyway, I wanted to comment on the picture below, a little photoshop side by side  of this months and last months eye candy. I thought they looked a little alike and yet opposite, one blond, the other with dark hair, one with a black background and the other with a white background, kind of cool and a good way to segway from one eye candy to the next.

This months eye candy is probably my current favorite since I think he is so beautiful and has a hot body. Ethnically suspect Swede, Filip Gustavsson. I say ethnically suspect cuz he looks like there is some ethinic mixing going on in his genes, he's got those nice full lips and a cute booty for a white boy! I found the pics below from an internet search. These pics are from N2N, an underwear company.

Antonio Lopez

I've been drawing since I was 10 years old. I'm always looking to improve and I look to more established illustrators to see how they work, what methods they use and try them for myself to see what I like and what works for me and my developing style.

I remember seeing Antonio Lopez's illustrations in Vogue magazine back in the 80's. I use to rip them out and and save them for reference to help improve my drawing and illustrating skills.  I really admired the style of his fashion ilustrations. I found out that his birthday was only two days after mine! Creative Aquarius! He unfortunately died back in '87 or '88. He  left a great body of works and he continues to influence many other illustrators.
