Nike and NFL pt.2

Here are more pictures of the Nike NFL reveal.
These are the life size (and I mean life size, about 6'3"!) mannequins we helped dress. It was not easy getting the gear on these stiffs! I injured my finger snapping the arms into place.

Me and a co-worker steamed all of the clothes on these mannequins...TWICE! Then we spent more time than we should have fixxing the shirts on the side that should have been done right the first time the day before. I was almost late getting to Oprah because of that crap. I was NOT going to miss Oprah!

I changed the jacket on Miami and did a bit of styling since Miami is my favorite team( It was all about Dan Marino for me!). The zipper broke on the jacket he had on before. Why it mattered about switching them out since the jacket is open, I do not know.
All the NFL players during the presentation. We got to watch as they rehearsed thier entrance. Most of them dudes are HUGE! A few were shorter than me( I'm 5'7"), but they were really broad in the shoulders.

I'll name the ones I know; #7 Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelere, #90 Ndamukong Suh( that's what I said about his name!) of the Lions, #31 with the best uniform in all the NFL, Kameron Chancellor of the Seahawks.
#7 Michael Vick of the Eagles, #98 Brian Orakpo of the Redskins.
You will probably be seeing a lot of this during the upcoming football season. The proper way to diplay the gloves on an actual player, #82 Dwayne Bowe of the Chiefs.

The cool gloves of all 32 teams
Up cose look of the Jaguars gloves.

Nike and the NFL

Nike became the official makers of NFL gear on April 1 2012. I was there last fall when they did this whole presentaion for the shareholders and what not and got the inside dish that they were going to be the new makers of NFL gear, but it was all hush, hush until they made the official anouncement and did a complete unvieling of the new NFL uniforms on April 3. This was the Brooklyn job I left  to go see Oprah! It was at Steiner Studios at the Brooklyn Navy yard. I didn't even know they had studios in Brooklyn. Eh, now I know!
The picture is blurry because I was doing this on the sly and my camera would not behave and take a clear picture at that moment, but from left to right are:
Jason Witten #82 of the Dallas Cowboys, Kameron Chancellor #31 of the Seattle Seahawks( and sporting the best and favorite new team uniform!), LaGarrette Blount #27 of the Tampa Bay Buckaneers.

Kameron Chancellor taking a nap.
The Seahawks gloves and helmet.
The cool gloves of the Seahawks...
the Redskins....
and the Cowboys.

Redskins and Dallas helmets.
The helmet of my favorite team, the Miami Dolphins because I love Dan Marino!
The notorious Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles. He got the same reaction from everyone I worked with who saw him in person, he looks good on tv, but eh, in person. Go figure *Kanye shrug*

Miachel Vick again. This was  during the player interviews. In the background are 32 mannequins of all the NFL teams that I helped to dress and set up the day before! I would love to have two of those mannequins standing by my front door!
The player I assited in getting his gear on, Brian Orakpo #98 of the Washington Redskins. Nice guy! Big a** arms, OMG! He almost elbowed me in  the eye, but I ducked when I saw it coming. He aplogized for almost knocking me out, lol.

Cortland Finnegan #81 of the St. Louis Rams who had just been traded from the Tennessee Titans.

Me and Kameron Chancellor of the Seahawks. I only come up to his shoulder and I am 5'7" when I stand up straight! It was his birthday, he is 24! And he smelled good, said he was wearing Creed. Seattle's uniform was voted the favorite by eveyone there and even other players liked this uniform. I was told Seattle took all the high-techoptions Nike offered. Kameron told us theat the design down the side of the pants and around the neck of the shirt are twelve feathers of the fans, what fans I have no idea, but the uniform was rockin'! Kameron said it, the shirt was tight, lol! I found out that's so when they are playing, other players can't get a grip of thier jersey.
Jason Witten of Dallas, I didn't get a picture with, but he was very polite, kept saying "thankyou" and "I appreciate it" even though I didn't really do much, but I liked he said it.
One of the players I am going to call out for his "stankness"! Larry Fitzgerald #11 of the Cardinals told a  girl no when she asked for his picture. I thiught I was hearing things as he was posing for a picture for Cortland Finnegan to take on his phone. The girl, my co-worker that day, confirmed  he did indeed  say  no to having his picture taken. Ungraciouss BASTARD!
Wes Welker of the Patriots is a shorty rock and looked kinda dirty beacuse of his scraggly facial hair, but he had pretty blue eyes.
Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers was rather jovia and upbeat even at the early hour we were workingl. One of my co-workers who was at the fittings the day before said he, BR, had everyone laughing.

Anyway....Got all the cool info to share with the bar crowd this coming season. I can not wait!!!

That was a very early morning after five days of early mornings and lots of work, so no make-up for me. At that point I really didn't are I was so tired, but it was cool meeting the players. I wasn't able to get pictures from last fall, but this is so much better!

Nike

I didn't do many shows during fashion week because I was doing Nike for three and  a half days. I did Nike last year, but that was a presentation for share holders I think and it was more fashion (sport)and had dancers as models. This time, it was to announced that Nike would be the official gear of the NFL next year. The Official announcement will be April 1, 2012. I am trying to find some of the video that they took of the backstage and rehearsals.  When I find it I will post it.  I hope they post the video cuz it looked cool in rehearsals.

The models they used this time were trainors from all over the country. I have never seen so many hard bodies in one place in my life! I so wish I had been able to take pictures as proof, but being that it was top secret unti it was announced, I had to be good least I loose my privilages. I can't do that, too many perks! The models had to sign confidentiality papers to not talk about this to anyone. Me and the rest of the people who I work with, were simply trusted to keep it to our selves until it was announced. being that only a very few people I know would even cara bout such stuff made it easy for my to keep it all to  my self. On show day they told a large room full of sports retailes so I guess it's safe for me to talk about it now. Michael Irving from the Dallas Cowboys(gag, not a Dallas fan) was there and so was Darelle Revis from the Jets. Didn't get to meet them. I was very tired after three and a half days so I will get over it. I love Dan marino anyway!

Nike

I did a show for Nike at the begining of May. It was a three day event with preperation and rehearsal before the actual show. The first two days were long as the changes were tough and they need more rehearsal time so we had to stay later and still come back the next day early! What I was able to see in rehearsal looked really good though. I only wish I could find a video of the actual show of which there were two. The first show was for Converse. I don't have any pictures of the show. This was a production for share holders, but I'm hoping somewhere there are pictures or a video of the show. But in the mean time...

This is Jacob and me (once again with no make-up, UHG!) Jacob is from southern Sweden and was  kind enough to teach me a bit of Swedish , I have since forgotten. I wish all my models were like Jacob. He knew what he  was suppose to do and he did it with ease and a calmeasy manner which I find most Swedes have. His eyes were pretty stunning too. This picture doesn't show, but he made me pause when he looked at me when I was checking to make sure his look was right. He's tall too!

This is a better picture of his stunning eyes. He had a nice smile as well.

The model I worked with for the Nike part of the show was nice, but in the end he jst walked away without saying thanks, or anything, so I will leave it.

The surprise was seeing Shuan T! Shuan T of Hip Hop Abs and the Insanity workout.! He was really nice and good looking too! He gave a bit of scoop on a celeb he use to train. Said this person was "crazy" to work with, not so easy LOL! All I will say is that the actor was in one of the Batman movies

These are the Nike sneakers we got for staying overtime. These are men's sneaks since they didn't have any women's in my size. These are also samples, not in stores yet! Too bad I don't need a new pair of sneak. I'm still considering selling them on Ebay or something.
